Buyer beware. Some good, a lot not so good.

If I was going to get the warranty I would look into the one offered by the manufacture only.

I have had to replace 3 PCM's and a relay box on my wife's car. Probably six grand with parts and labor.

We just bought a brand-new car. The thing has so many buttons and computers that Heck yes I bought the extended warranty. You know just one computer go out it could cost you $3000. My car is now covered for 100,000 miles 10 years bumper-to-bumper

Most of the time you will lose money if you buy an extended warranty. If more people won than lost with them they wouldn't be selling them.

The warranty is also negotiable. They make most their money on the backend of car deals. Maybe you can get the warranty for 1k or 1200.

You should be able to walk into any Toyota dealer and get the factory extended warranty as it looks like you are still under factory warranty. I would never buy a car these days that I expect to keep for a long time without the extended warranty. Make sure you check the different levels and deductibles.

Its a gamble. On that car you will likely never need it.

We on a 2008 Camry currently with 145k miles on it and the only non-maintenance repair we've done to it is replace a $70 windshield visor.

This guy made a fortune selling extended warranties

Not saying all of them will be like this guy but the industry does have a tendency for not honoring the repairs.

Make sure you read and understand the agreement. Especially the real small print.

I bought my wife a new Toyota this last week.
The extended warranty was offered to the tune of $2,500.
                      I said no.

10 minutes of scare tactics and they offered at $2,000 and I said no.
10 minutes more scaring the wife and they offered at $1,500, only because it was at the end of the month. (whatever that means).

                      I still said no.
Hoping I made the right call.

You have at least a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty anyway. If your car turns out to be problematic you'll know way before then. If you have lots of warranty repairs get rid of it.

I've heard those warranties cost the dealer around $300. If you really want to get a warranty on the car, offer them $500 cash take it or leave it. If they want to make a couple hundred dollars they'll take it.

I don"t ever buy extended warranties. My thought is they would not offer them if they are not making any money off of them.
