Hate to hear that Jeff........have her switch to slick tricks and she won't have that problem.........
She is going to the 3 blade rages. I shoot those and they have a screw in them and no problems. It is just a hole in the 2 blade, no pin, just an open hole that has a washer looking deal in it.
I looked at Cabelas today and all of the replacement blades come with a screw. I also checked my Rage 2s and they have a pin as well. I wonder when you replace the blades can you replace the pin with the supplied screw? Anyone ever replaced one with the pin?
just noticed the 3 i have in my quiver have the screws, and the other 9 i have got the pin, I put pressure on the pin like i was trying to push it out and it did not move, i reckon it will be fine. Has anyone shot anything with the ones that have pins?

Now why would she want to shoot what you can't hit anything with ............

Is 54 lbs and a short draw length enough to push three blades through?
Yeah, I don't see why it wouldn't be. I shoot 60lbs with almost the same draw length. If anything they should penetrate better because they are a shorter cutting diameter.
I had poor results with the rage 2 blade this weekend as well. Penetration was not really the problem but the blades breaking off was. I was culling deer on my friends ranch this weekend and went 1 for 2 on recovery.Deer #1 only made it 70 or so yards but there was VERY little blood trail and upon inspection of the arrow the broadhead had BROKEN OFF right at the ferrule. The shot did not pass through and was about two inches higher than the heart but I definitely got a double lung hit. Deer #2 was hit hard with a complete pass through tight to the shoulder crease and low enough to clip the heart. The problem was when the bades opened on impact they broke off on the first ribs they hit leaving only the point to do the damage. Blood was sparse for the most part and we tracked that buck for over a mile and lost blood trail. Poor performance on good shots was my experience with the rage so I am going back to muzzy or montec. Good luck,if I wanted to shoot mechanicals I would go with the spitfire if I were you.(not to offend any rage lovers just my experience with them).
jyoung. The roll pin in the head, if this is what you have, would be hollow and you can see through it, at least the ones I have you can. Shot a buck sunday morning and the head performed flawlessly (could not be happier with performance) That being said when I found my arrow the head was still in tact but opon examination it came apart in my hand. I have all the parts, blades, head, and pin. The pin does not fit snug in the head anymore, it just falls through. For anyone else with experiance, is the head ruined or will the replacement blades work

Jeff
That must be it then, because you can see through it. I do not like this design, if it was a solid pin it would probably be ok.
