We are planting this weekend and hopefully it rains. It's hard to plan around the forcast when you have limited time to just run to the lease when it's forcasted. About to close on a house and be moving this is my last trip before October.

When to seed/fertilize a food plot

Since you have your seed bed prepared, you can either wait for a good rain and plant right after it, or plant in the next couple of weeks. It'll rain eventually. You'll be fine. Just mix seed and fert together, broadcast, and then drag smooth.

With just 2 acres, you're only talking a couple hundred pounds of seed and maybe the same amount of fert. I usually do 100 pounds of wheat and 200 pounds fert (24-10-10) per acre.

As stated above, plant when you have time to do so.

I mowed my food plot last week...and the turnips had already started growing. It kinda shocked me. Last year my 2 acres was covered in turnips. I'm thinking I'll throw some wheat out around the 15 of September
