Headed to Saskatchewan - Archery Bear

Trying to focus here on my last day of work before heading north to Saskatchewan next week after black bears. Down side is I am missing opening day of dove season but I think it is a pretty good trade off. I went on this trip back in 2008 and shot a nice bear but the trip was pretty much marred by a horrible gout flare up. I was stuck in this beautiful outdoor paradise and was in horrible pain with no access to meds for 6 days. If anyone has had issues with gout before you know how bad that suuuuuuuuuuuuucks!! I am fully stocked up on appropriate meds and ready to enjoy this time around. My wife will be going with me and doing some videoing as well as fishing for trophy pike during the day. I hope to have much better photos and documentation this time around.

We will be about 4 hours north of Saskatoon. Keeley Lake Lodge is where we are staying.

Good luck. I want to Northern Saskatchewan on black bear hunt and fishing trip about 10 years ago. We were up near Lake Athabasca and it was the best guided trip I have ever been on.
Looking forward to hearing about your trip and seeing photos. I suffer with gout on occasion as well so I feel your pain, literally. I take black cherry in capsule form from GNC and it really helps keep it at bay. Good you are taking your meds with you though just in case.

Well, made it back last night. Did not shoot a bear but not from lack of opportunities. To tell the truth we had more fun fishing!! Me and my wife ended up with 15 pike over 10 lbs and she landed one 42" long and 22lbs. Out of 4 of us we had 3 over 20lbs and over 20 15+lb fish, it was amazing.

My first bear hunt was 100 miles North of Fort McMurry

They sure did. Those 15lb ones on the spinning rods we were using were a struggle to get in but great fun.
