    Ryan Mallet MIA at practice.

Yahoo sports and the Houston chronicle are reporting that mallet wasn't at practice today and when coach O'Brian was asked he said that the reason why is between Ryan and i. But he might be at practice come Friday that's up to him.

I wonder if he's have second thoughts on being a Texan since he didn't get the starting job?

He wasn't happy with the decision.. but claims he will 'wait for his turn..which WILL happen this year"....
Imagine the issue with Obrien is with him stating that to the press.

Well he is sure showing his dedication to the team. After he ran his mouth I would tell him "don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya"

He overslept. Seriously, that was his excuse. Must have been a separate knob for the radio alarm volume. Why separate knob? Why separate knob?

I haven't been at practice to see day to day but in the games he has looked significantly better in my opinion. That being said, he needs to man up and keep his mouth shut and go to work.

When you sign a journeyman QB to a 2 year deal worth $11...with $5 million guaranteed....If he thought he was ever considered for the starting job, he is a chump...This was Hoyer job from the day he signed barring injury.....

Mallet did nothing outstanding that I saw.....

Hard Knocks should be fun to watch next week

It's his only leverage for a trade to not show up

If he doesn't want to come to practice, maybe Bob doesn't want to sign his next check. Never understand how an athlete can sign a contract and be happy as a lark, then not want to live up to they're end of the deal.

I'm betting that there is a whole lot more to this story than he "just overslept." That's just the story someone wants us to hear...for now.

Guys on 610 said he showed up late & was sent home.

                        Brutal hungover?

According to 247 sports on my CBS sports app, it says he had Jury Duty

I had heard that Mallett overslept, showed up late and O'Brien dismissed him from practice!

Let's be honest, we aren't arguing about hall of fame quarterbacks here, but In my opinion Mallett was never given a fair competition. One of Mallett's criticisms was that he has a deadly accurate arm down the field, yet he struggles on his intermediate to short passes. So, in the pre-season, Mallett completed 83% of his intermediate to short passes. I'm sure that was consistent in Mallett's eyes. The arguments about Mallett not stretching the field during the preseason....look back at the plays called into him. He was never given a play that had any receivers pushing deep as all routes were being broken off!

I'm not defending Mallett, but I there was a decision made long ago about who would start. However, Mallett is not helping his case with these antics if he truly is sleeping in, etc. you true character is exposed by how you handle and react to adversity....
