Sitting at the house here in Nederland . I'm near the Airport .. Normal planes come over all the time landing cause I'm near the large runway ..

A few minutes ago it's been way louder than normal so I walk out and investigate cause it happened 2/3 times ..

FIGHTER JET! I guess doing maneuvers here in SETX..

I sometimes work near Ellington Field and I pause every time a fighter jet cruises by. It never gets old.

Saw what appeared to be a fighter jet near the airport here in Victoria today....thought it to be odd also.

This is Beaumont .. We have a coast guard at Sabine pass , fighters jets shouldn't be here.

whenever the air show comes to town, ill go to work a couple hours early to sit on the side of genoa red bluff and watch the show.

my memories of final approaches.

Somebody oughta write a book about living on final. Like a lot of Austinites, we grew up under and between the Mueller and Bergstrom flight paths here during the Vietnam war. F4's and B52's all day and night. Kinda like living between the rails on the train tracks. 707's were bad too.

Pencils would roll off your school desk, you couldn't keep a picture straight on the wall, you would have to wait till the plane passed over before you could continue your conversation and your TV screen would would go fuzzy all the time.

If you were in class the teacher stopped talking and just looked at you. I blame the glaring gaps in my education directly on this.

If you stood on the playground at Ridgetop and the grass was tall after the jets splitvyou ears the vortesees would buffet you then throw the grass all over the place.

My dad has a hearing loss disability from the VA..... I wonder.....

Was it maybe T-38s you saw? I grew up in Port Neches, and we would see these occasionally. They were touch-and-go training flights by NASA astronauts from Ellington Field.

its been awhile since i fished Rayburn but they used to do mock runs on the lake gates all the time,, played tag over and around the lake,,, might take 3 minutes to get to Nederland ,,, they would be coming in so low and fast you could not hear them at all till they passed overhead,,, as long as they are US jets it is just a training run

here in Caldwell this afternoon about 4 or 5 military helicopters landed at our airport.
