thanks for all the comments. good advice and ideas. Yep, I look at what some of the used tractors with a brush hog sell for and buying a new tow behind for almost the same price doesn't make sense either. And a couple of rentals will almost pay for a used swisher tow behind. Of course if we go into next year without rain it might not need but one cutting.

I will second not mowing cactus. Not up to date with the latest herbicide for it but that would be my route. Mowing/shredding will only make it worse.

What is the biggest small tree you think this thing would cut? I have some in the 4-5" range, mostly soft wood Chinese tallow or pines.

I was considering burning them but too much grass and too dry right now. Herbicide might be a consideration for a couple of spots where they are a problem.

Good night that's crazy. Does it run off of a belt or some type of gear drive?

I have one that I don't use anymore, I think it has an 11 hp Honda motor
They cut gas ok but are not big enough for brush cutting

I saw this a couple of years ago. Never did buy one, but maybe an option for you.

This looks awesome, would be great to use the rough cut mower under fence lines. Pretty pricey though, $3k for utv hydraulic set up and $2k for the rough cut mower! Over $5k in the rough cut set up!

how much do you have to cut and where? I have a Brush Beast walk behind that i use to clear stand sites at my hog lease. It will easly take down a 2 to 3 inch diameter tree. I could possibly set somethjng up with you depending on location.
Nutt98 has seen it in action if you want to pm him and ask about it.

That thing looks awesome. Cost is a consideration though. Like others have noted a used tractor with brush hog is almost the same as some of these things to buy new.

Thanks. Probably a couple of acres or so, spread between the house/barn, some trails, and feeders. I'm in League City but property is north of Leakey.
