My wife and I are looking to get our property dozed in hopes of building in the next couple of years. What is the best time of the year to doze? I was thinking around Feb or March so that it is still cool enough to burn piles and enjoy it, have time to plant grass before spring, and spring rains would help fill the tank. Am I on track with this or are there other issues that I am missing. Like when trees are more susceptible to damage from the ground being disturbed around them. Help me out guys.

Doesn't really matter. Really need to give the trees and brush time to dry to burn properly, have a lot of work to do to the land before you plant grasses if you want a good stand and if you're building a tank, it will fill when it fills. When planting roots or tops out best results have been November/February if it's a fairly we winter.

When you can get the dozer to show up.
You want them to burn piles so that they can bury the stumps etc that won't burn.
When they show up is set by when they finish last job, not your calendar. If last job comes out on last day and says "while your here go ahead and do so and so" he will do it and save the moving expense.
