Good dove ammo

Was at Academy this afternoon and some interesting ammo. I can't remember the brand, it was "Texas" something, in a plain-ish looking white box. But it's a high-base ammo. Shoots 1 1/4 oz. of 7 1/2 @ 1250 fps. That should knock down some of these fat, fast-flying dove!

Same as the green and orange box. I think rios are about the same specs too.

I bought the 20 ga and its 1 oz, 1250 fps, don't recall what the 12 ga was.

I'll take more lead in the air over speed any day. That 1/4 oz of 7.5 shot is nearly 40 pellets that are not terminally hurling themselves at the target

Yep, rio texas game loads, they are high brass. $100 at cabelas and $90 at academy. I hate buying them but they sure cycle well out of my 11-87.

I bought a couple of boxes of fiocchi last weekend that were 1 1/4 oz of 7.5's at 1330 fps to help break in my new Super Vinci. They sure packed a good thump, and worked well for breaking in a gun. Couldn't bring myself to spend that on dove loads though. Fiocchi texas white wing loads with 1 1/8 oz of 7.5's at 1250 fps at $5.99 a box are fine for me.
