    Feeder pen help

Wanting to put up pens around feeders. I found 16 ft hog panels. What diameter do y'all use? The panels are 30 inches high. Do they make t posts short enough to have them flush? Thanks.

We use minimum 10 panels in a circle. Not sure what that equates to in diameter. Don think they make tpost that short, it really doesn't matter if they stick up above panels. Put tpost in center of each panel. Good luck!

Don't worry about the height of the post. Use whatever you already have or if your gonna buy, buy whatever they have. Height won't matter at all.

I just built 2 16'X50"X12 panel pens and wish I had built 14/16 panel pens...

My experience has been, especially in South Texas, build the pen large as you can afford. Mature deer seemed to respond better to the larger pens

I just built one with 8 panels. I wouldn't go any smaller than that. And the tpost hight doesn't matter and if for some reason one is in the way. Chop it off with a sawzall

echo the ones that said build as large as your budget will support. in my opinion a dodecagon (ten panels, i googled it!) is as small as you should go. Also, don't try and build a circle with bent panels, make a polygon with squared off sides. youre going to most likely want to add a row of barbed wire above the cattle panels and if you've bent them to make your pen into a cirlce the wire when stretched between the t posts will be well inside the cattle panels and create a dangerous situation for the deer. it should be clear by now I made this mistake in my earlier years.

If you're worried about the height of a t-post, just hit it a few more times. It will get shorter.

Here is a picture from my cam. You just need to tie the barbwire down towards the center so the deer don't get trapped.
