How often do you change your string?

How often do you guys get a new string/cables for your rigs? I've been shooting my Destroyer 340 for about 3 years now and it's a great shooter. I've never replaced the string on it yet and to be honest it doesn't look like it needs it yet but the recent threads on shootin arrows through a hand and the like got me nervous. String doesn't look frayed or anything and the serving on my cables looks good to. Just want to make sure I'm not going to regret not doing it if it needs to be done.

It will vary depending on how much you shoot. If you go through hunting season and then shoot a lot of 3d there are many people that change them yearly. If you go through season and pull it out occasionally to shoot the block or participate in a 3d shoot you can go 2 - 3 years in my opinion. I shoot a couple 3d's a year and use mine all hunting season so I change mine every 2 years.

mine is 3 yrs old and I bought bow used...
shop looked at it the other day and said it looks great...

I also wax it after shooting at lease

I would take it to a pro shop and have em look at the wear spots .. I dont shoot but when I go to lease between hunts and occasionally at home.

I change mine every other year and wax after every time I shoot. I had a string break on me. It isn't something you want to experience. Money well spent changing them.

Twice since 2001. Used to shoot a bunch of indoor and 3d, but haven't done much in the last 10 years.
