    Local burn ban rules???

We are under burn ban here in Kaufman county. I can not find anywhere in the online county website that states specifically what types of fire pits, grills etc that you can still burn and cook in etc when under burn ban. I have always been under the impression you can still use gas or wood burning grills and pits so long as they are above ground. Ground fire rings and brush piles are no go. Can anyone in the know shed any light on this subject? I have a 36" propane tank end cap pit that is about a foot off the ground at the bottom and want to burn some small limbs and logs for cooking hotdogs etc.
    Thanks!

        It differs by county.

I read one where is was okay to use a gas grill but not charcoal.

no welding outside unless certain area cleared and a spotter with a lots of water to put out fire.

Usually commissioner's court in the county will issue an order mandating the ban. Details of what is permitted and what's not will be spelled out in the order. Currently in Polk county, with certain exceptions, you can't have a fire that is not in an enclosure designed to contain the fire and sparks from it. The order is posted on the county website.

                No ground fires
                Burn barrels must be covered
"Cooking Fires" above ground are approved as long as they dont have grass underneath them....

Anything else, we call Ellis County SO

In Ellis County.... others will vary based on commisioners court decisions.

Varies with all counties. I am a CC and our county is specific to our county only. Ours are posted on our web site. Call the county judge and see if they can help you.

It's dry fellows. I was putting a tire back on rim with either last weekend had to do the dance before it got out of hand.
