Bow String Makers (Small Recurve)

Guys I have a green fiberglass recurve Locksley bow it is 47 1/4 inches long, I met a blind kid on an airplane the other day that wants to target shoot and I told him I would send him the bow, I told him I had arrows the bow and a string but I was wrong I do not have a string for it and I want to get one made so I can send it to him turn key ready to shoot can anyone make a string for this bow??

You should be able to go to your local pro shop and get a string made, or order one on line. Generally, if you take the length of the bow and subtract 2" and order a string that length, it will fit and give you room to do some twisting to set the proper brace height. If you don't have a competent pro shop near by, call the Bow Zone in Spring (North Houston area) and talk to Richard or Joey and tell them what you want. They can make it and send it to you. You can probably order it from Lancaster Archery or Three Rivers Archery on line. Both of these shops specialize in traditional archery equipment.

Three rivers archery has custom lengths and they are really reasonably priced as well. I got some from them for some board bows I made for my kids
