    Help me find a dog

Did a search and didn't find anything recent.

Wife and I are interested in a springer spaniel but since they aren't a common dog in our area I know of no breeders. Dog will be inside and will hunt. I know I will pay for great blood but I accept that. I can't stand puppy mills or &$@% eaters. It cost the same to house and feed a champion as it does a bread to sell headache.

Not ruled out a Boykin but prefer a springer at this time

And quality breeders that yall know of? Any to run from?

    Thanks

Have you considered a pudelpointer? I just got a pup from a cedarwood gun dogs in Idaho.

Smart, great nose, easy to train, no shedding...

        Good luck with your search

A springer was on my short list but the lack of breeders and overall information, knocked them off.

What Im quickly finding. Afraid to few in Texas will be more show/lap dog. More options up north, and for $2K+ options open up.

Might just be a pipe dream

Wife wants a Brittany if not a springer.....I'd rather go back with a Lab, I know what I'm getting there, lol I like Britts....but they are kinda average at best. Cant hang with a Lab retrieving and cant hang with a pointer for quail.

springer search is quickly becoming a no go..shame

Pudelpointer..... Best of both. I've been a lab guy all my life, I've been pleased with the PP breed so far.

still limited breeders. and a little iffy on a dog that is still pretty hit or miss on performance.

Keeping options open, and I never jump into getting a dog. Still weighing options

I did a bird hunt last year with 4R ranch. They had a bunch of puppies there at the time. They used all the spaniels for flush dogs. May want to call them

Welcome to 4R Ranch, a premier hunting ranch located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas, 1 hour northwest of San Antonio. Quail & pheasant hunting in Texas the way it should be. Call Deryl today at 830-426-3035.

PM sent - contact info for Mike Pollack. Absolutely great with the Springers and has lots of knowledge on breeders across the country. He should be able to point you in the right directions.
