Copperhead dang near got my hand

At the lease I opened the water box to refill camper water tank. I reached in and grabbed the handle when I saw movement. I pulled my hand back and my scream was a little high pitched.
He was about 16" and very active. By the time I pulled him out he was only 14".
This is my 2nd close call with copperheads this summer.

Wowza is right. Be careful. Don't won't to get bit not only for the obvious reason but also cost for anti-venom injections can be a hefty price tag if you don't have good insurance coverage. Glad it turned out okay for you

BIL got bit by a tiny copperhead a couple of years ago and it landed him a 3 day stay at the hospital. It sucked for him.

Yep. That's a copperhead.

That wouldn't have been very fun. Although I guess if you're gonna get bit by a venomous snake that would be the one to get bit by. If you have a healthy immune system you'd be alright. It'd probably just hurt and swell up some.

My mother thats 71 got bit by this guy in her flower bed
but got lucky and was a dry bite.

True. From what I understand there have been no recorded deaths in the U.S. from a copperhead bite.
