Stand and fill. My DIY version

Been messing with this a bit. Finally got it going my way. Feeder base tacked together. Bottom angle frame ready. Sheet metal cut and bent on 2 edges to fit.

Bottom of the feeder is currently figured to be 48" off the ground.

Feeder base is a couple of old scaffold frames cut and welded in a square with scaffold tube legs. This base will weigh around 75 lbs.

Looks good to me. I love them "low boy" feeders!

            Sides

Sides cut and bent. Instead of angle iron frame. I chose to bend one end of each piece 90 degrees. This reduces the weight slighlty. Also it means just one weld per corner. Do not have a lot of metal working tools. Bends are done with a 2 lb hammer.

If the bottom of your feeder will be 48", won't the cows be able to lick the spinner plate or are you gonna put a cage around the motor?

There will be a cage out at the legs. You can see the material in the background. 2*2 squares. Same guage material as hog panels
