    How high? Stand and fill

If you were building a stand and fill, how high would you make to the top?

As low as possible. 4ft if you can get away with it. But no higher than 5ft for me.

I say no taller than a door at your house. I would like it as tall as I could get it and still get a bag of corn in it with out a step

I am 5'8" rest of the guys are 5' 10 or more. I will not be lifting many as I am the oldest. Right I have it at 5'7". But am in the process of building and could change it.

I will start a DIY in the near future.

Great idea, but my pigs would destroy that within days of setup. You must not have any.

OP, 5' or maybe 5'6" should do.

We have pigs at our place also. Trying to build to deal with them.

I like that, how far does it throw corn?

the low height would make me wonder about distance throwing the corn

I would go a little lower myself, but not any higher.

Why not put legs on it and use a ladder as one of the legs. I did this with square tubing and made my own ladder. It makes the feeder way more stable and hard to tip over and it makes it easy to fill. Put a coon cage around the feeder and you are good to go.

I almost got one of those but glad I had my crank up down in the bottom when it flooded.
The water got to the bottom of the basket about six foot off the ground.
                            No damage to the feeder.

Have plenty of wild pigs, javalinas, and cows with no feeder pens. It's actually the opposite. They can't get to any corn so they don't jack with it. 3 stakes and never had one turned over.
