What is customary when you find arrowheads and what not on someones property? Do you give any to the landowner or is it finders keepers. Curious as to what you guys do.

If it was my place I would want to know about it. I would probably let you keep it but would like to know if there was something there. Then again if it's an old timer they probably know about it already.

I don't know about customary but legally you are stealing if you remove the arrowhead without the landowner's permission

I don't remove anything from anyone else's property unless I have permission to do so....otherwise, to me it's stealing no matter how large or small it is, even if they knew it was there or not. It's much easier to just talk it over with the owner. Earlier this year I found some very nice sheds on a friends ranch. I asked, and got to keep them. Helps one sleep better at night too.

I have told land owners and they let me keep them.

It depends-I have never seen our land owner in the 26 years of leasing it so I wouldn't feel bad keeping it. If I was a guest on someone's property then I wouldn't keep it without permission.

I've always asked, and been told yes. Same with sheds and deer skulls.

Ask in advance if you plan to look. If you just happen up on one, tell the landowner and he will likely let you keep it.

I typically find several a year on my deer lease. I typically don't go out of my way to tell him unless they are really nice ones. If their nice complete arrowheads i ask him if he wants them
