    Frustrated with life! (BIG RANT!!!)

Very sorry about the long read and nobody really needs to read it but just need to vent some...

I finished my masters degree in May. Have been looking for jobs and interviewing most of the summer. About 6 weeks ago I drive to Arkansas for the weekend and a job interview monday morning. On sunday I get a call from my landlady saying a pipe on a water filter broke in my apartment and flooded my apartment and two others. I Postpone my interview and head back to nacogdoches. I did not get into this field to make money but because I really like it, however, Non of the jobs I interviewed for want to give me credit for having a masters in this field and a years experience in the field and want to start me at the lowest rate for that job position. (I don't expect a big difference but even $1000/year extra for the masters degree would have been nice.
Fast forward to a week and a half ago, I get the job offer from Arkansas and except it. I go up there last weekend with the intentions of staying two to three days for job paperwork and find a rent house. Look for two days at about 7 houses/duplexes, decide on the second house I looked at and call them and they say they rented it that morning thinking I was not interested in it even though I had told them it was at the top but since I had only looked at one other and had appointments for 5 others I would let them know the next day before I left. Everything else I looked at to rent was complete junk for 5 - 6 hundred a month. There was one nice place for 700 per month I did find, However at that much I can be paying a pretty nice mortgage payment instead of 8400 a year in rent.

Found a decent foreclosed fixer upper in my price range but the bank decided to put it up for auction this weekend. I had it inspected and sign up with auction dot com to bid on it and read the fine print. They can counter bid on a house until it has reached the reserve price the bank had set on it (does not sound right but I go with it and make a bid). I am outbid, not sure if it was auction.com or an individual, with 45 second left I bid my max. At 5 seconds on the clock I am out bid, the clock then starts counting down from 2.5 minutes and the minimum bid goes from 5000 to 2500. Then at 5 seconds again it drops to 500 min. bid and starts counting down from 2.5 minutes again before finally ending. From what I can tell it never hit the reserve and I am not sure if I was high bidder or not or if I was bidding against a computer or a person. I am very very frustrated because it is a week later and I still don't have a clue where I will be staying...
Then I get back to nacogdoches and it is 100 degrees in my apartment because my A/C has gone out sometime within the last week while I have been out of town.

Again Very sorry about the long read and nobody really needs to read it but I just needed to vent some...

I know this really does not compare or sound bad when compared to some of the things other TBH'ers are going through.

Sounds like the normal trials and tribulations we face in every day life

Very minuscule when you realize God is in control and everything happens for a reason

BTW, wait til you get married and have kids, it only gets 100x's worse

Prayers sent for some peace and understanding

You must be a Forester. If so, welcome to the profession.

Last Thursday. Loaded up a skid steer to clean up some right of ways and broke a ramp on my trailer. Welded it back up and headed out. Blew out a tire, replaced with spare. Drove 3 miles, punctured spare. Dropped trailer and headed back to town to fix spare and replace blowout. Had lunch and order was slow and wrong. Ate anyways and headed back to trailer. Hooked up and headed to job site. Emergency call, chemical spill on location and need to head over there quick with skid steer to contain and clean up. Did a U turn and got ticketed. Drove 8 miles and tranny went out. Dropped trailer, again limped back to town. Changed trucks and went back to trailer. Hooked up and headed to location. Got to location and punctured new tire. Changed back to spare, patch did not hold. Unloaded skid steer and cleaned spill. Dropped trailer and headed to town with tires. Too late to get them fixed. Got to yard, opened a bottle of Jack Daniels Single Barrel, had 2 drinks on the rocks sitting outside my trailer emoting the evening. Smiled and gave thanks for surviving another day and still finding enough work to keep on keeping on.
Sometimes things don't go your way, part of life and what makes it so interesting.
Life is a storm, it's what we do during that storm that defines us as men. Look into that storm and say, "Do your worst, for I will do mine."

If everything went as planned, life would sure be boring, don't ya agree?

                          that's it?

there's not enough material there for one verse of a country song.....

hope you can find a place to live.

Man good luck with everything. What I would do to only pay $700 a month for my rent/mort! Iam paying 3.5x that. Everything will work out

Life happens! Look at the bright side of things and you will see you are blessed more than all of these unfortunate incidents are allowing you to see. Things will turn around and you will look back and laugh at all this. Good luck to you.
