If you had 5 days off in October, what days would you take?

    And why?

    Last 5.

Only shooter I've ever seen in October was the last day of bow season.

I run feeders year round and can count on one hand the number of shooters I've had on camera before November.

End of October, closer to the "rutting moon" with hopes of cooler weather as well. The last week of October will be a full moon, difficult hunting IMO as they will move more in the bright moon. I'd pick the week before the last (18-24).

Yep, I'm a believer in it.

The last 5. Pre rut, bucks are moving, feeding, working scrapes, rubbing. Other than a real good rut phase, this is the best time.

Tough call I still think the first day in a tree is your best bet

Thanks for the input,I'm in Menard co. I few weeks ago, I saw a post about the 2 NCD week, made sense when I read it, but can't remember why. Luckily for me I have a flexible schedule.

Might not be the best time but I couldn't take it. It would have first 5 days unless you can split up your days

Personally I will be in Wyoming for oct 10-15 chasing proghorm

October 34th thru October 38th. That translates to November 3rd thru the 7th. At least last year East Tx peaked very early in November and the 7th was hot according to multiple sources. Of course.... This year (like every year) the peak will be plus or minus a few days.

Yup. I shot my buck that was virtually nocturnal on November 8th in Houston County. That day I hunted it was like a light switch. Saw most of my good bucks in one morning hunt.

It was incredible last year wasn't it? I passed a good one on the 8th and then it stopped. I finally found a different one on the 16th.... But it was like night and day in terms of deer sightings by then (and I passed the deer I shot back earlier when it was "on").
