I got drawn for this hunt for January. I have already gone back and read the previous threads and was just wondering if anybody else had anymore input on the area. I have been putting in for 8 years and finally got drawn. I am used to South and Central Texas hunting for the most part. Any input is appreciated.

First off, i'm insanely jealous! Beautiful country, and while sheep aren't my prize target, i'd love to get a free range one out there.
I can't give you info on hunting them, but be prepared for temp extremes. Jan can be brutal cold, or it can be unseasonably warm...... and that can happen in a single day. Seen it mid 70's by 3 pm and have a serious cold front plummet temps to teens by 10 pm.
Make sure you have all your essential gear, very few stores and almost no specialty/outdoor stores.

I personally wouldn't want to camp in Jan

Yep, it might be brutally cold. But even so, dress in layers. Goretex is your friend - breathable. Even if it's 5 degrees, if you are climbing steep canyons, you'll work up a sweat. It's not like sitting still all day in a blind. That's where you freeze to death. If you're moving around, you'll stay warm as long as you are wearing layers of the right clothes. Good boots are a must. Take a good backpack to pack layers, water, snacks, and hopefully meat and horns.
I don't think there's any lodging in Quitaque, but I might be wrong. The hotel in Turkey will likely be the closest one. My parents live in Tulia. We stay there and commute. It's 30-40 minutes away. Not too bad. There's a hotel or two there as well.

I wouldn't camp up there in January if in were you. The best lodging in that area is definitely in turkey. Like what has been said earlier the weather can change on a dime in that area and you really don't understand it unless you've experienced it first hand. But that area does hold so just good Rams but be ready to put some miles on some good boots.

Congrats on a great hunt in a great area. Others have warned you of the long walks in rough areas and the changing weather. Make sure and take the best glass ( binos and or spotting scopes). Aoudad there can be seen and see you for a long way. Best plan is to find them, get above them, and come in from the top. Not always possible, but best plan for success. If you can do it you can get REALLY close. Good luck to you. If you have success and need help getting him out, let me know. I have game cart and will travel just for the experience.
