what is the minimum poundage for gator while bowfishing
im wanting to get into bowfishing and wanted to get a bow that I can shoot everything from carp to gator and shark if need be. any suggestions on minimum poundage for the larger species?
That fish hawk your shooting is a mighty fine bow. I'm a barracuda guy myself. If you wanna spend big coin then look at Oneidas... 30-40lbs is plenty. Shooting gators is more about the arrow and tip choice than anything I'm pretty sure i.e. detachable tip tied to a float. Sharks well I know nothing about that category.
I have been wanting to get into bowfishing myself and am currently looking for a recurve to do it with, if anyone knows of one floating around out there.
Lots of good advice so far. The Fishhawk is about perfect at 35lbs for fish, gators , or sharks. Gators are soft unless you shoot them in the top of the head or in the hornback. detachable tips are a MUST on gators.
