    Home A/C question..

As from previous posts you can tell I have been working on my old house. First question is:
If your air handler is in a closet in the house should you be able to see all the way around it up into the attic..?? There is about an 8 inch gap all the way around the air handler at the top in the attic...
    Second:
The air vent closest to the air handler is dripping water onto the floor. What should I do about this..?? My drain is working on the outside of my house but, I got under the house today and there was a lot of water on the timbers and the dirt under the house at the air handler....

You need to insulate the duct work. The water is condensation from cool air on one side and hot moist air on the other. Just like your beer. Put it in a coozie and no more dripping. Same with the duct work

#1- yes that gap is fine. I've seen new houses have a gap around the plenum and unit. Just make sure the closet doors is closed and doesn't allow air to draft thru any cracks.

#2- where does the main drain line go? Usually there are 2 lines. One is a main line going to a sink nearby and the other one outside is the secondary. When the secondary is dripping usually means the main line is clogged up. The water is prob from condensation in the drain pain being pulled into the airflow to the first vent. Or it could be the vent sweating Bc hot is mixing in the cold air right at the vent. Possible leak in the duct work. I'd think first about the drain line though
