    Thinking about getting a tractor.

I have been thinking about buying a small tractor. I would like to get the pkg. with the front end loader, shredder and blade attatchment with 20 ft. trailer. What brand would you recommend and any other suggestions about what to look for . I havn`t checked prices yet and I really don`t want to go over 25000. I would like to get a 4x4 but that isn`t a deal breaker. I only have 5 acres and dont plan on doing anything extreme with it. Mostly cleaning thing up and having the ability to move a little dirt every now and then. It would also come in handy when it is time to clean up around the lease.

you can get a decent sized Kubota 4x4 for that price.

probably in the 35-40 horse range.

Taylor equipment had the best prices the last two times I bought an orange one.

I dont know yet about longevity but I bought Kubota 3901 4x4 with loader, shredder and pallet forks 5-6 weeks ago. Im loving it. I thought about JD but the models that had HP in the mid 30's or so were all hydrostatic trannys. I wanted a real clutch and gears, mine isnt just a big lawnmower Ended up at $24k with insurance added in etc ( 0% financing ) Normangee was the cheapest for me and they delivered free

Happy with my kubota 3800 I bought a couple years ago. Quick detach on the front is a must and I use pallet forks probably more than bucket. Hydrostatic is awesome too. The "package deals" are a marketing thing from what I gathered when I bought mine. You could get one with a shredder, box blade, front end loader and pallet forks for under 25k for sure. Proally be pretty close to 25k with trailer.

I am on 5 acres as well with a 35hp 4x4. I could not imagine not having 4x4. If you are moving dirt, rocks or any type of digging or pushing then get 4x4. Mine is a used 2004 I got a couple years ago.

Shoot while your thinking, could you think about getting me one? That's why I don't have one now, I got to thinking about $20000+/-, payments, another vehicle to service, next thing you know I talked myself out of it.

My Kubota M 5700 is 16/17 years old and has been used hard. Anything I can ride down I cut. So far, one clutch cable and two hoist cables. Other than that , routine maintenence. No way will I buy anything else !

Here's a second on the pallet forks.

Most used implement on our place.

Really nice for moving other implements around .

Just today I was planting my dove field and moved my cultibaitor with it.
