Views vs Posts 10/20 To 1

Has anyone else noticed the big difference between the number of views vs the number of posts on a thread. Looks like there are 10 to 20 times more views for each post on a thread.

Does this mean we have a lot of lurkers?

I'll admit I very seldom post but I do spend a lot of time reading posts and learning from others. I'll only post if I have a good question to ask or if I feel like I can contribute (in a positive way) to someone's thread.

The views is an interesting number, and I like to be able to see it, but it's much like "clicks" using to determine site traffic. It can be a misleading number, especially with an active site. If anything, it probably is an indication of repeat visits, which is a good thing, too.

I think a better indicator of "lurkers" is by looking at the main page of the forum and looking at the "Currently Active Users". Currently, there are 92 total users, 62 of which are registered with 30 "guests".

The cool thing is, you don't even have to open a thread now to really find out what it's about. You can simply scroll over the title and it gives you the first line of the post. It has been a big time saver. Another thing, I bet a lot of post that have not been viewed a lot are because of the poster. After a few years of being on this site, you learn who post crap and who post quality. Another big plus of the new software.
