    Midland TX (duck,dove,goose?)

Will be traveling to Midland Tx for work. Looking for some places to go shoot some dove and then make some duck, goose, and crane hunting a little later in the year. Anyone on the green screen have some suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Dove can be pretty good down there over water and/or seed fields.

There will be some waterfowl, but it seems like that is kind of a skip jump in the central flyway. What i mean by that is while its in the flyway, it seems birds tend to land in more ag rich areas north of there in the panhandle and easter NM. Then the skip/jump over that area and carry on with their migration further south to the coast.

Lamesa isn't far from Midland, still ag rich area and will have lots of sandhills in the area from odonnell west over the seminole/seagraves, Ducks if you can find water, and some canadas.

As it gets closer check craigslist. Some places only charge 20-40 a day for dove to use property.

Most of the fields up around Lamesa and O'Donnell areas are leased up every year by the outfitters lots of Cranes and geese that area. Should be a heck of a year up that way this year lots of water. Good Luck

            Blackfoot guide service in Lubbock.

Here in Odessa the dove and quail is top notch in areas. Ducks used to be good on the pecos, and I've killed a lot there but the last 2 years was crazy slow. North of us the cranes are solid. And east up near ackerly and lamesa. Lubbock is the waterfowl place that's close though.

Try Flying V Waterfowl. They are a top notch guide service for this area of west Texas. Although they are not as well known their experience matches most of their competitors. Great guys that truly care about getting on the birds but also making sure everyone has fun. There are plenty of guides around the area but I truly believe these are the best ones out there. Never seem to disappoint.

NO NO NO NO NO and more NO! There is no WATERfowl up in Lubbock. Its just a dry dusty desert (deserts have no water so there can't be WATERfowl), where the wind blows constantly and nothing grows but GMO cotton.
