    Anyone else feel annoyed when.....

...... after thousands of people are being laid off across your company,5 and 10% pay cuts after the layoffs and you still get emails from the CEO asking all employees to congradulate some random person in God knows where for there recent promotion. im just a Shift Supervisor who went from being low paid to lower paid on salary whose people under him end up making more getting paid by the hour. if we are getting pay cut after pay cut I don't want to get an email from the CEO about someone getting a big promotion, we are hanging on by a thread trying to keep our families fed, the bills paid and they (Corporate) are throwing huge elaborate parties down town on the 50th or whatever floor.

    RANT OVER!!!

Yep. I took a reduction in grade in 2011, only to MC the promotions of an E8 and an E9 that I used to outrank by two grades.

Salaried workers will work what ever hours they deem necessary with no overtime, hourly they do not want to pay overtime. Nuff said.

Yep. One of the reasons I retired and started my own business. Someone in that company is making money and they don't care that you aren't. Glad to have my retirement but am really glad that now the sweat and blood I'm giving build something more for me in the short and long run.

Yep, I just sat in a two day meeting in Spain where they talked about all the money that could be save if we drilled the next well faster. In then what. A lay off. Come on, you flew us 8k miles for this. Imagine all the money they could have saved if they could have just told us that when we go to the rig.

Man im glad to know im not the only one who feels this way. Hell if I was better in school I would have gone to collage but know what?? I wasn't, so I joined the military had fun, shot some stuff, kicked in doors, but even there its the same thing. you come in from a raid or patrol and you got some Gold leaf ( who hasn't spent his first five min. outside the wire) telling you, hey you cant walk and smoke, or hey get ur hands outta ur pockets. dude, really!!! and that's deployed, don't even get me started on getting back to the States!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow, culture shock, then getting out and everyone upstairs is freaking out about little stuff. one day I had to tell my boss, don't sweat the small stuff man, its going to be ok. by the way my boss is a 27yr old grad from tech and is 6 years younger than me. id like to find a new job, don't get me wrong I like what I do but the SUITS don't appreciate the small people. although my #1 boss here has invited me to go guide some customers at the Corporate lease! that's gonna be fun
