    Binocular recommendation

My small Nikon binoculars broke. I want to upsize to 10x42. What do you recommend without breaking the bank?

I have a pair of Redfield 10x42s that I got for $100 on sale and $25 rebate a few years back. They generally run $150 msrp, but this time of year with sales, you might get them lower. They have given me good service.

Your eyes will not improve with age, go with Swarovski, Zeiss or Leica. Expensive but will be a one time investment.

Without breaking the bank get some Vortex Razor HD. I love mine.

That said i will most likely own some Sworos in the next 5 years.. But for now they are perfect.

See if you can find some of those Brunton Epoch (sp?) that were floating around on that deal alert about 4-6 months back. I grabbed a pair and they kick ***. Listed for $999.99 and were being sold for $250-$300ish. I'll bet you can find some on eBay or the classifieds here.

Not one you see mentioned often, but try looking at Equinox Audubon 8 x 42's. I've been very impressed with them, excellent clarity and sharpness, great light-gathering capability, seems to withstand heavy use and transporting well. Even while guiding hunts, I've never needed anything more.

I am in the same boat. I have been thinking about the Nikon manarch 7 . I really don`t want to go over 500.00.

I bought a pair of Vortex Viper HD 10x42.......I think they are the best bang for the buck

If you can swing it, get a pair of Swaro EL 10x42
