    A/C for Hunting Cabin...Mini-split?

There is an old (built in the 30's) rock house on the place we hunt south of Abilene. It is about 1000 square feet, and currently uninsulated. We heat and cool it with 3 window units (and occasionally some space heaters), but I would like to put in something better. I've been looking into the ductless, mini-split systems. The local A/C guys all frown on them and recommend installing central heat & air...but I don't like the idea of having to run ducts from scratch (and paying that much), and am thinking the mini-split systems would be ideal for as little use as it gets (maybe one weekend a month for most of the year, and 2 weekends a month during deer season).

Do any of you have any experience with mini-split systems that could comment on this?

    Thank you...

For what you are wanting to do, a mini split is the perfect choice. would require one hole to be put thru the wall to run lines. very easy to be done

They work great. My brother in law has one in his garage and it works fantastic. We sell them fairly often for situations like yours.
