    Is rule stupid? maybe
Besides the point though, if he knew the rule and knew he was breaking it then suffer consequences of getting caught.
Don't like the rule, get it changed or go play somewhere with different rules.

it does not matter how good he is or how bad he is, he IS a cheat, personally i think he deserves more than 4 games,,, a lot more,,, more along the lines of pete rose!!! he did not cheat he gambled, and got severely punished,, cheater got a slap on the wrist..........
so by your argument aaron rodgers is a also a cheater as he has admitted to over inflating footballs for a better grip due to the size of his hands

not trying to defend tom brady but it jus funny how the rules are only enforced in certain ways, you cant deflate a ball but over inflating is o.k,,,,can put a sticky substance on your hands but you can wear gloves that due have a gripping design on them,,can put a spray on your jersey to make slippery but you can wear gloves to get a better grip,,jus real funny how the rules are enforced in some ways but not in other ways

Gloves aren't against the rules. ANYONE can wear them.

The Pats have the lowest fumble rate in the history of the league from 2010-2014....and its not even close. Coincidence?...heck no.

It's really very simple. Gloves are approved.....Stick-um is not. Stick-um was outlawed due to the nasty mess it made from the abusers. The gloves leave no residue.

Use one common football and have the officials control the ball. If a new ball is needed let the officials replace the ball from their ball supply. End this BS story line for once and all.

This is true but it creates scenarios where a dropped pass, fumbled snap, botched handoff, or bad pass potentially do not take place thus putting the defense at a disadvantage on what would have or could have been negative plays for the offense. It could create a need to tackle a ball carrier when if the psi was within the rules they would not have to. It's a lot of would have and could have but the facts are that a semi deflated ball give an advantage to the offense in adverse weather conditions.

I have always wondered why they won't let a team over inflate balls to kick longer field goals or under inflate them on downs when they know that they are going to pass. I thought it was to make the game fair to everyone by having the same conditions but you have opened my eyes that footballs only have to do with defensive linemen making tackles.

Thanks for the explanation on why psi doesn't matter. It makes perfect sense.

If the Cowgirls had used a less-inflated football, then maybe Bryant makes that catch and we don't have to listen to all the Cowgirl fans whining about it for the next 20 years.
