Live each day and DON'T put it off!

Just got the word a "buddy" is very ill. It all started off 3 weeks ago with what he thought was an infection from "chiggers." Right at the base of his spine at the top of his underwear line and itched like crazy. Itching progressed to pain in a very short time.

He then went to a "physician" who put him on steroids, but no better. Next step was being referred to a dermatologist who removed a dime size mole then biopsied the now golf ball size spot.

Today I learned it is Melanoma. It has already metastasized into his bones, liver and lungs. He's 4 years younger than me and this has once more "shocked" me back to the daily reality I take for granted.

I called my future daughter-in-law, my son is at work and told her that they should do what they want and live where they want! My TBH son recently posted they are seriously considering moving to Alaska.

Point is....even after all the death I have seen in past careers, I take so much for granted every day! For some reason, this has really hit home with me and I just felt the need to share.

Live each day folks and DON'T put off making your dreams happen......

Well put! Folks for some reason rather "rant & rage" about everything under the sun, but never realize how fragile life truly is.

Prayers sent up for your friend sir! This is a reason I spend every waking possible moment (outside of work) with my kids.

Sadly, I've seen several good people die way before their time from various forms of melanoma. In each case it started off small and quickly spiraled out of control. This is an evil, terrible form of cancer and it doesn't discriminate. Thanks for the reminder Kuma and the call to celebrate life every day. Life is indeed precious and should never be taken for granted. I pray that the doctors find a cure soon and also pray for your buddy.
