I posted my droptine buck LDPs and story a couple months back and just getting around to this dude. Figured we all needed to see some hunting related threads and pics. Headed to the lease in Archer City the day after Christmas in time to hunt that evening. The hunts before Christmas had really climaxed with activity with a few shooter bucks coming in but no shot opportunity. My dad and friend stayed on the bottom property hunting the two SSE wind stands down there and my brother and I drove up a couple miles to hunt our top property. I tried to convince my brother to hunt this stand location as it provides the only cover for deer to access a neighboring wheat field from their bedding area, but it was the furthest walk and he was dresses heavier than me. It was a bit warm for a late December hunt and I really didn't expect to see much more than a couple doe that night. At 5:45 ish I noticed movement behind a draw and saw two deer moving east. They walked past my location about 50yds, then came circling back up a ledge. When I saw the buck crest the edge I knew he was a shooter and thought he was a particular 11pt we had on game cam. The feeder is 180yds from the stand and I couldn't quite pin point if he was the 11 or not but I knew I was going to take a crack at em. As I looked through the scope buck fever set in and I had to take a minute to calm myself for the shot. As I shot, I knew my brother would soon be texting me and questioning his decision not to hunt this stand. When I walked up I was pleasantly surprised to find a split brow 13pt. No history of this deer on camera and only a busted brow and g2 at the end of December. Deffinetly my best year of hunting and bucks to date!! I'll throw in the droptine taken in Sanger taken close to Clear Creek at the end for those that missed the first write up. Thanks for reading and I would love to see some guesses on scores!! Thanks for posting the pics CSmith!!
