    Chevy Mechanic help

I'm being told the the motor mount is going out in the wife's 2011 Traverse. Can someone tell me if this can be done diy or for sure let the mech do it? Naturally it happens a week before we take Harley to Ole Miss! The mech had already left and didn't give us a quote, but the receptionist said it was a major job and quiet of bit $.

Depends on which one they are talking about. Remember, that DIY depends a lot on the 'y'
    Only you can determine this.
    Check out this link.

If it is number 001 from the picture, it should not be very difficult if you have standard tools and medium mechanical aptitude.
    Good luck

I find hard to believe that you have a worm motor mount on a 2011, do y'all drive on very rough roads? The one on top is for torque loads and may have a worn rubber bushing, its not hard to replace.

Was this something they just recommended or did you take it in for somethong and that is the problem? Check it by putting it in drive and pop the gas with a foot hard on the break, then the same in reverse. If a mount is in desperate need of replacing, you will feel, sometimes hear too, the engine hit as it settles after a hard torque shift.
