Great, New thing to spend money on!!

Did a thermal pig hunt last night. The guy has it set up very nicely. Supplies the ammo, gun, shooting sticks, Ranger, thermal scope and night vision googles; well every thing. Bottom line, thermal scope savings--engaged!! Definitely a learning curve on depth perception with both types of night vision. But fun.

I don't know how to get in touch with the guide, yet. One of my service companies took me on the hunt. Guy's name was Jed and lives outside of Madisonville. Super cool and knowledgeable dude. That's all I know yet. Basically we rode around in the dark on the ranger wearing night vision goggles mounted to a helmet, like a K-pot, that flip up and automatically shut off. When pigs are spotted then we would stalk in, set up and get on the thermal equipped suppressed rifles. There's about $15k per person in equipment. He doesn't have cheap stuff. There's a 2nd guy along on the hunt that during the shooting he keeps everyone safe and staying in a parallel line with the action. Moving shooters up and back as the hogs run. With the suppressed fire they don't know which direction to run. Echo from the surrounding timber would sometimes send them straight back at you.

You don't have to have night vision binoculars and a $3-10,000 thermal scope to hunt hogs at night. I use a PVS-14 helmet-mounted monocular ($3400) and an AR-15 with a Crimson Trace infrared laser ($200). I corned a ranch road last Saturday then walked it that night and killed 7 maybe 8 hogs and a coon. The only reason that I didn't kill more is the grass was so high. I had a thermal scope with me and never even took it out of my pocket.

Well ultrastealth some people like quality and all the gadgets. You had a thermal scope in your pocket and I've got ocean front property in Arizona.

Thanks Larry P. Jed has gone corporate. He only sells 10 hunts with 3 hunters per hunt for $22,500. This from my salesman.
