Any body hunt around Navarro County? I just leased a place up there. Ive hunted south east of there for years but never in this area. If yall could give me some info I would appreciate it, the place is on the west side of 45

If its at 45 and chambers creek on the west side, I had a buddy lease that place last couple seasons. Not much for the way of deer population but he said they seen 1 good deer and ton of hogs.

Yes, west of 45 in Navarro county doesn't really tell us where you leased your place? As Elliscounty lots of hogs if near the creek.

Hit or miss in that area. I believe there was a lady hunter who shot a monster a few years ago near Dawson.

I've seen more hogs than anything else in a number of areas. Don't see very many deer. Friends of mine own a decent size ranch, but they all hunt in a different county.

we have property on both sides of the navarro and freestone county lines, have been hunting there for almost 20 years. However you will have to be a little more specific on what area you are in. If you are on the west side of 45 you can probably expect decent deer vs. east side (closer to the river) where the habitat is much more conducive to bigger dear.

Tough area. Occosionally a giant but not many deer. However, I was on one place that we seen deer just about everytime out just not many different deer, other places none at all. Closer to the lake the better I think.

                  Good Luck

Location, location, location especially in that county, some areas have very low population density, some areas are good population density. I've seen good deer around richland creek WMA
(flood this year could impact that though), good #'s south of RC lake as well, some good deer where the creek goes into the lake around the town of richland. On the flip side theres some places on the west side of the county that have little to no deer at all, south west of corsicana could be very tough for deer but you'll have hogs.

these are the best two bucks ive taken on my property in Navarro co. Lots of hogs as well. Sometimes its hit or miss, but most of the bucks are big.

Where? West of 45 North or South of 31. There have been 2 book deer taken near Navarro Mills in the Richland creek bottom in the last 10 years. One was featured in TTHA. If you are near Richland Creek with good cover you will find some deer. As others have said SE side of the county near the trinity the WMA and the forbidden zone is where the bruisers are. 1 of the 3 biggest free range deer I've ever seen on the hoof while hunting in my entire life was on the Trinity south of Kerens and North of 287.

I hunt west of 45 and north of 31. We have lots of deer every sit. Last year was my first year to hunt there. I have yet to see a huge deer, but here are a couple of bucks we took last year.
