we have property on both sides of the navarro and freestone county lines, have been hunting there for almost 20 years. However you will have to be a little more specific on what area you are in. If you are on the west side of 45 you can probably expect decent deer vs. east side (closer to the river) where the habitat is much more conducive to bigger dear.

Location, location, location especially in that county, some areas have very low population density, some areas are good population density. I've seen good deer around richland creek WMA
(flood this year could impact that though), good #'s south of RC lake as well, some good deer where the creek goes into the lake around the town of richland. On the flip side theres some places on the west side of the county that have little to no deer at all, south west of corsicana could be very tough for deer but you'll have hogs.Last edited by bossbowman; 07-20-2015, 02:12 PM.

Where? West of 45 North or South of 31. There have been 2 book deer taken near Navarro Mills in the Richland creek bottom in the last 10 years. One was featured in TTHA. If you are near Richland Creek with good cover you will find some deer. As others have said SE side of the county near the trinity the WMA and the forbidden zone is where the bruisers are. 1 of the 3 biggest free range deer I've ever seen on the hoof while hunting in my entire life was on the Trinity south of Kerens and North of 287.
