    Getting ready to go pitch

I got suckered into pitching in a men's baseball league tonight. I haven't thrown a baseball since my senior year in college ten years ago. Needless to say I won't be able to move at work tomorrow.

Where you playing? I played MSBL from age 28-45 and have been kicking around the idea of getting back into it.

I live in missouri and they just started a men's baseball league last year. I'm sure there's leagues in Texas as well

I'm sure the Houston area has several leagues/teams. Dallas had a big MSBL program in the early '90s and Shreveport, LA has a good league too.

It's hot out there so be careful and do good!

A guy on one of my senior league teams a few years ago said something that made me laugh but is true.

"Old man baseball is kind of like little league, everyone thinks they can pitch, nobody wants to catch, and they always make the fat guy play right field."

I don't feel very old I'm 31 but I think I'll be one of the oldest guys there

I didn't see my skills start to decline until my upper 30's. until then I could throw as hard and run as fast as ever but when I started to lose it, it came quickly. First the arm strength then the bat speed and last couple of years it was my eyesight.

The last year I played we faced a pitcher throwing mid 80s and the ball was on top of me before I saw it.

Good luck. Get warmed up, stretch that shoulder and warm up some more. You should have about 1 or 2 innings in the tank after that. Give us your stat line after the game.

Hey mike did you play in the Dallas league? I played for the Angels from 93 til about 99. The Dallas league was great and very competitive.
