    Need 10 person tent

I'm looking for a ten person tent that I can take to Arkansas in December for a public land hunting trip. I would like to keep it under $500.00 if possible. I have been looking online and have found a few that I like. I just know the GS is full of well experienced tent campers so I thought I would ask for reviews and advice. This time of the year in Arkansas you just never know what type of weather you will have. It could be from snow, sleet, extremely windy or a high of 25. Last year we had a older tent and when it rained everything got wet. There will only be three of us in the tent with our gear. We will be there for 7 days or so.

    Thanks in Advance!

Here is my suggestion, and what I am currently doing. Taking a military parchute and converting it to a huge 14-18 man tipi and it will only weigh approx 12-15 lbs, minus the center pole and stakes, handle the highest winds, and be warm because it will have a wood burner in it. I am going to do like huskyrunnr did in the pics I provided of his. I just bought this at a local military surplus store last night for $29. This will be easy and the 2nd wood heated tipi I will have.

I got this off of bowsite. There are pics there in the inexpensive wall tent thread.

A canvas wall tent with a wood burning stove might be more than $500's but could be found on the used market. Arguably warmer than an rv. I'm an eagle scout and and avid backpacker and have a ton of experience camping in large groups. Try to get two five man canvas wall tents it will be harder to find a flat piece of ground large enough for a 10 man ten. You could have better luck finding 2 flatter, smaller patches of dirt with no rocks than one huge area. It really depends if your car camping or backpacking. Could you give some more information on what you want to do or capabilities?

If you have a marine safety place near you go ask for a condemned 25 man life raft. That's what I use as a tent whenever I head out with the family or buddies. Makes the best tent in the world! If you make your way to louisiana I could help you out on one too. Best part is they're free
