    Ram 1500 parking sensor help

Anyone with a newer Ram 1500 with Front Parking Sensors Put a Frontier aftermarket bumper on? The frontier is equipped with holes for the sensors but I am getting a sensor error ever since the bumper went on. Anyone else run into this? If so how did you fix it? Dealership was not much help. I guess I will call Frontier on Monday.

Check to make sure none of the wires got pinched and that the connectors are solid. Also may try disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes to reset the computer.

Thanks. I disconnected battery for 20 min then reconnected hoping it would reset and nothing. I checked connections. I am wondering if could be some kind of alignment issue because they are not in same spot on bumper and the diamond plate may be causing them not to sit perfectly straight.

Hmmm not sure. I installed quite a few on the Fords but never a dodge. Never had the issue arise. Hope they get it worked out for you

We had an installer put one on for a customer and they cut and spliced the wires back. We had to put new sensors in it at the installers expense.

I had this issue on my dodge on the rear sensors when I added my Frontier bumper. after weeks of trying to figure it out, I took them off one at a time and sprayed electro wash in the connectors and that fixed my issues. Then after a year I wound up adding a dab of silicone to the back of them to make them stay in the bumper.

Thanks I will try that tomorrow. If anyone else has any other ideas, I will be happy to hear them.

You didn't mix them up while you were changing the bumper did you? I wonder if that matters?

No the wires really can't be mixed up. The sensors don't matter. However I think I figured it out. I rotated some of the front sensors to the back and the back failed. There was one in the front that did not cause the back to fail. So I think the installer damaged some of them somehow. Looks like I might need new ones
