    Texas Resort Locations......

Looking for someplace to have a family reunion here in Texas. Someplace that can accommodate 40+ people, near shopping for the wives, entertainment for the grandkids, a pool, restaurants that can handle the crowd and a meeting room for a business meeting. Would be nice if it was centrally located for people coming from Abilene, Dallas, Austin, New Mexico and Colorado.

We have had this reunion every year since 1959 in Salado but the old Stagecoach Inn there has closed.

    Any ideas.....???

Not central to those locations but what about Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop?

Great Wolf Lodge or Gaylord Texan?

Dont know if anything around Ft. Worth but would check there too.

The Hyatt Hill Country Resort is very nice with golf and close to Sea World and shopping. We stayed there once and had a blast in the lazy river giant swimming pool.

The wife and I are headed to the JW Marriott in San Antonio for our 10 year anniversary. From everything I've read, it looks serviceable.

My brother had his wedding at this place in Fredericksburg. There were about 40 people there.

I have not stayed at this place but it was down the road from where we were.

I was going to suggest The Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio as well. Really great place, haven't been in a few years however. Lots of entertainment to be had at the resort and on the town.
La Cantera in San Antonio is also nice.

JW is very nice and has lots of food nearby. The pool and slides are awesome for the kids and one of the best golf courses in Texas.

Cinnamon Shore in Port Aransas - great for families and it's beachfront.

The wife and I had a really good time this weekend at the JW Marriott! I would definitely recommend it, and we will be back!

I'd concur with JW Marriot in SA. We've stayed at Hill Country Hyatt, Westin La Cantera and Lost Pines - I'd say it's the best of the set.

EDIT: Although the golf course was a little "goat ranchy" when we were there, but it was during the drought.
