After reading several posts about people getting chiggers and ticks, along with my recent encounter with chiggers, a memory got jarred from my brain housing group.
In the Marines, most salts would wear pantyhose under our cammies. My first time in the field I laughed at them. It was all fun and games until I had the corpsman pulling ticks off of every little nook and crannie.
After that, I'd always keep a couple pair in my rucksack. This year scouting, better believe I'll have some on.
The pantyhose creates a barrier that the mouthparts of ticks and chiggers can't penetrate. Plus, you don't have to use a lot of smelly bug juice that could bust ur hunt.
Now I know they're some "tuff guys" on here that will snub their noses and make jokes, but at the end of the day, my manly parts will be bug free!
