I've been using the same guys for 13 years. They first did my house, then my office, then 72 rental properties, then a few houses we built, now my lakehouse. They've been great to deal with and we've been very happy.

I just hooked up with Vivint and like it. I get a message every time someone rings doorbell, I can turn on and off house lights with it, and open or close the garage door. PM me if you want their salesmans number.

I have been on the look out also. Are you wanting something that is monitored or something that you monitor? My brother has vivint and really likes it, but I am wanting to get something that I dont have to keep paying for...

I use SimpliSafe and its been pretty good so far. I pay for the monitoring and have the higher priced monitoring package so that I can use the mobile app also. I get text alerts anytime it alarms, if we lose power or if the panic is set off. I have hit the panic on the key fob several times and receive a call from their dispatch almost instantly to check on things. I like them because there is also not a contract so it can be canceled at anytime with no penalty.

I switched to Vivint a couple years ago and have really liked the system. It's a very flexible system so it can do just about anything you'd like.

If you have school age kids, it can send you a text if they don't get home and disarm the system by a certain time and send you another if they don't re-arm it by a certain time. It can turn on cameras when you open a door, etc.- just too many options to list. I sleep a lot better at night when I'm away from home.
