    2-3 hunts or a lease?

If you had to choose between 2-3 good hunts ( out of state) or a year round lease less than 2 hours away which would it be?

I'd get more enjoyment out of the local yeararound getaway.

I think about that every year. I'm fascinated with hunting out west and really want to hunt all the big game western animals. The hunting I have done out of texas I thought was the most challenging, rewarding and exiting hunting I've ever done. Even though I've come back empty handed every time. It's just so exciting doing spot and stalk in the mountains over hunting a feeder. I love the idea of hunting an animal that grew that big naturally.

Texas leases are just getting crazy expensive between lease cost, blind, feeding protein year round and everything else that goes into a lease. Running trail cams, naming every deer, not being able to shoot your best deer because he's 4/5 and not 6/7, etc.

My dilema is if I didn't have a place to go hunting every weekend I would go crazy. I love going with buddies, the work that goes into it year round, campfires... Pros and cons to each one.

Lease, without question. Plus public land draw tags out West, they're cheap enough.

                    Lease

I just got on a lease about 1 1/2 hrs away from home & 40 mins from my work. I try to go out at least once a week & just love being able to get there so often. Not only that, but there should be Nilgai around as well. I'm already getting pics of deer & hogs, so that has me fired up knowing I can hunt year round

Use to say lease, but now I kind agree with this.

It's about time for me. I don't really have the time to take care of a lease or the proper equipment. Being self employed doesn't help much either.

I've never had a great lease. Most of mine have been in East Tex. it's seems like I put in a lot of work for mediocre results. When I go out of the are for a hunt the excitement builds and my confidence is much higher.

Out of state hunts would and are the best choice for me. I have always enjoyed hunting new places more than hunting the same place all the time

Lease so the kids can hunt.
