    Hub centering rings

Anybody ever heard of something called a hub centering ring for aftermarket wheels?

I was told by a tire dealer they are used to take up any slack in the wheel & hub relationship. They are basically used to "center" the wheel on the hub. I understand there are two types of wheels... hub centering and lug centering. Man, I thought I knew my tires and wheels. Can anyone confirm?

hub CENTRIC and lug CENTRIC if I am not mistaken.

I believe it is based on what the rim is "sitting" on and carrying the load. Lugs or the hub.
