how long should I wait?

I purchased some broadheads in the classifieds. As always and if you have done business with me here I don't have Pay Pal. I send a MO, and have had zero issues with other TBH members.

On June 26, I send the MO and advise the seller via PM that his money is in route. On June 30 he acknowledges receiving the funds (MO). He sends me a PM and says that on this same day the package is in route to me and gives me a USPS tracking number.

A few days pass and I ask my wife to look where the package is at. She trys it several times and shows that the tracking number is not valid. I send the buyer a PM advising him that I have not received the item and the tracking number is no good.

Hate to call the guy out but I am a lil leary. The last time he was on here was July 3. I am a pretty patient fella, we shall see what happens.

The new "mail innovations" thing they are doing is a giant pain with tracking numbers, and often won't show up, even if you call them. Stuff seems to show up a day or two late even in perfect circumstances, add a holiday and some weather and good luck.

I had a package that got the last digit of the zip code wrong, came to the right town, a fairly small one, and it took them close to a week extra to get it to me. I called and told them I would pick it up and they couldn't tell me which post office it was at.

Something to consider in the future, sending a check works better for you as if it gets lost it's not cashed. If a money order gets lost you're out of luck. Obviously the seller might want to wait a couple of days for the check to actually process instead of just give a pending credit, but it's not a big deal.

I was on the other side of a deal like this a few weeks ago. Same day I was to mail something off, we made an emergency trip to Texas Children's Hospital with my lil boy. A 1 week stay and throat surgery later, the package was mailed. I did get with the buyer and let him know what had happened though.

I'd give anyone on here the benefit of the doubt, until I was absolutely sure I was had.

I had a package shipped through USPS last year and was given a tracking number. For three days when I checked the status and the message their system gave me was that the number had been issued but the package had not been entered into the USPS system. Then on day four it showed out for delivery from my local post office. Made me scratch my head for sure.

When I ship a knife to someone in Texas 9 times out of 10 the item is delivered long before the tracking number shows anything with USPS.
