Yes the man is a timber cruiser. Sorry. It was around Hattiesburg, Ms.

I really don't know the story. A buddy sent me the pic. He knows him.

I just thought it was a perty good size snake. Not quite 8'8" but a gudden!!

The picture was deceiving until I zoomed in on its tail and noticed it wasn't black and white striped. I thought it was a Western Diamondback at first. Being an Eastern Diamondback I can believe its every bit that long. My Uncle saw one hit on the highway in North Carolina a long time ago. Its head was on the line in the middle of the road and its rattles were just past the line on the side. It took up one whole lane. Some ol' boy from Arkansas stopped, threw it in the trunk of his car and drove off.

Yeah he looks like a midget next to that snake. But I would too.

Roger that. The 8-8.5' is a long (pun intended) mythical story here on TBH about a Western Diamondback that never could find a tape measure.

                    That's a big heavy snake.

I don't envy his job at all, used to walk along with our company owner years ago when he cruised timber. We just carried a stick, a long stick!
