    Irish Setter Boots Thoughts

I want to buy a pair of the Vaptrek 17" snake boots and i'm curious if anybody has any experience with them? Most of the reviews i read are good when it comes to water proof and not too hot during the summer and such. Just curious if anybody here has them.

Sorry I don't have the model you're asking about but I can definitely vouch for their steel toe waterproof work boots. I have had no problems with them at all and wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair in the future. I have had mine for 1.5 years wear them 4 days a week 12 hrs a day and they are still holding up just fine. Not too hot at all even in this Texas summer heat. I don't go trudging around through creeks and ditches, but have had no issues with them being waterproof doing normal outdoor activities in wet weather. Hope this helps.

I have IS but not the ones your asking about. IS are very good boots. Good luck.

my wife and boys got me a new pair of Irish Setter hunting boots for Christmas and the stitching in the heal area of the boot came apart the first time I wore them - for a pair of $200 boots I would expect better

I have some Irish Setter snake boots but they are a different model. Mine are 6 or 7 years old and they are the only hunting boot that I wear. They have held up real well and they are super comfortable. I will likely own another pair of Irish Setters when the time comes. Hope this helps!

I wore zip up Irish Setter snake boots for many years before the lining came off inside and started rubbing blisters. But I put many miles on these boots for years. I wore them year round. I looked for a new pair but was unable to find any more. Loved them. I cannot vouch for the new ones but I think Irish Setter a reputable brand.

Hmm, possible you just got a 'lemon' pair? Did you try another set of sent them back and wrote them off?

I have an older pair of the 1200 gram insulated rubber hunting boots. The sole completely came off of them after a couple years of use. I used some shoe goop to put them back on & have to keep an eye on them. But I love the actual boots. Nice and warm. Looks like the new models are built a little better.

This is the pair I have, where the rubber back bottoms out and attaches to the leather all the stitching came out the first time I wore them and there is a big hole there now. The store would not exchange them because my wife did not keep the receipt after I tried them on and they fit perfect. I have not talked to Irish Setter themselves as of yet. Hopefully they will help me out

That sucks. Hopefully IS will warranty them and get you a new pair.

me too - they are the most comfortable hunting boots I have ever owned. I called them earlier and they gave me an address to send them to for warranty department. They will take a look and let me know if they will warranty them or not.

Don't have snake boots, but do wear IS boots while hunting and they are light, well made, water-proof and very soft/comfortable right from the git-go. Highly recommend them. I like them better than the Danner's I wore for a long time.

I do not know about their quality, but you WILL get tired of lacing them up!

I know! I just can't find a snake boot with good reviews (on being water proof mainly) that has a side zipper. And I don't want a fancy rubber boot or any slip on as they tend to slip with thicker socks and then I get a blister.
