hearing loss

Since Thursday I've noticed something wrong and today any deep sound is hurting! I'm sitting in the emergency room right now, best I can figure is a ruptured ear drum or an infection. This is only my left ear so hope they figure it out fast.

I feel for ya brother, been there done that. Had really bad infection, & drove me crazy till medicine kicked in ( about a week ) ..... Prayers for speedy healing

Please go see an ENT (otolaryngology) this week. The ER does not have appropriate equipment to accurately diagnose and treat hearing loss.

They just cut me loose there thinking infection. Eardrop and antibiotics for the next 10 days now.

In my line of work ( working on jet engines ) I need all the hearing I can get. We go thru yearly hearing exams c once a year and that was 6 months ago and all was ok then.

Just an update on my hearing loss. I went to see an ENT Doctor first thing up was a hearing test.
I gave them a copy of my last test that was done in march and now I have a 80% loss of hearing
In left ear. I'm scheduled for an MRI next week and teeing med for 7 more days.
On my next checkup if there are no improvement then it a shot into the eardrum
With more steroids. So it looks like I have at least a month to see if it gets better or not and the Dr gave me a 50-50 chance of it improving. I sure miss hearing the birds in the morning since I can't tell where they are now. Gonna,be an interesting hunting season.

I had my hearing go funny saturday. I cleaned it and in addition to wax was blood. So I used peroxide to clean. Nest morning still blood coming out so went to Dr. I had ruptured eardrum and had an infection. He gave me some drops and antibiotics. Just now starting to feel normal.

Your lucky I haven't heard anything since 4 of July weekend.

I would hope they asked but make sure you tell your doc every medication you've taken in the past few months, OTC or prescription. Some medications can cause hearing damage.

I don't take any kind of med at all. I have the MRI set for Tuesday.

Just got the worst shot I've ever had, it was in my eardrum! I'll admit it brought tears to my eyes.
