There's no need to knock if it doesn't require a signature. Knocking alerts dogs and dogs bite. Plus most people are home have kids sleeping or day sleepers so you get yelled at by them for waking the house or them up. Can't please everyone

Maybe this is just a local problem.

We have a good crew of folks working UPS/FedEx in the Rockwall area.

I have never had an issue with delivery time or condition.

And they always knock when leaving a package at the door.

I used to have problems with the dude in brown, but now have a great driver. He sends me a text when I have a package requiring a signature to make sure someone will be home. Had a fill in driver a while back and he got lost and didn't show up until 9:00 pm. That dude has a long day.

Had important overnight package of credit cards needed before leaving for vacation. Supposed to arrive on a Friday.

They showed arrived out for shipping Friday morning.
Then showed rescheduled to Monday at noon.

Called the 800 number. Then waited an hour for local office to call back.
They said was on big truck to be unloaded and would be put on truck out for delivery at 1pm.

            Called 800 number again.
Waited hour for call back from local office. Can't call them directly and everyone doesn't have a last name or contact number. She said she out in truck and out for delivery.

            Showed to be delivered again.
Then at 6pm showed back to Monday for delivery after waiting 2 hours after work hours.

Called 800 number back said nothing they could do as now package was now showing as lost.
Could not put investigation because has to be lost for 24 hours.

Said I would have to call 800 number back Monday
Monday they say package is lost I need to contact Credit Card company.
I call company they cancel cards and then have to ship new cards out.
Then Monday the lost package shows up after I cancelled them!

            Total incompetence
Company uses a call center with no last names and no contact numbers for anyone.

I understand things happen but the whole customer service side is very poor and obviously set up to avoid human contact with the call center.
The local drivers and local employees are very hard workers and very nice.

Bingo! I had to explain to our mail carrier not to HONK or bang on the door if a package arrives. Just place it on the porch and leave. If a signature is required just knock. Numerous times he would pull in honking his horn all the way up the drive and then stomp up the stairs and pound twice on the door waking up my kids! Nap time is important....without it the kids bring back some attitude memories from the past!

As for UPS I haven't ever had any issues. Our driver is very polite! One thing is he never arrives until after 7pm! Guessing we are his last stop.

In our area people follow the delivery trucks and take the packages. It has even been caught on camera

Why would you ship metal pieces in an envelope???

I ship or receive about 25 packages a week and UPS service is always excellent.

I somewhat agree. There were 3 of these, in the envelope.

It's a 5" diameter bend, to give you an idea of size.
You'd have to work at it, to get all three to fall out of that hole.

Even if it did fall out, somewhere along the conveyor belts, that indicates that the guys in the warehouse don't give a crap either. You would hear those things hitting the concrete.

You can tell my mom did not ship those. I don't think a dbl edged knife that is sharp as a razor could make it through her packaging!

Nothing wrong with the packaging IMO.

UPS will still beat USPS any day

I have not had any problem with tracking UPS packages, USPS on the other hand
