Cant say its the best because I dont go out for steaks too often so don't have a lot to compare against, but it is good.

Here is my take on Austin steak joints:

Perry's- Steaks are good, pork chop though is the best thing on the menu.
III Forks- Very good steaks. The Tomahawk ribeye is worth the price tag.
Sullivans- Old and becoming very average.
Cap Grille- I think this is the new go to for steaks in Austin right now. Service is out of this world.
VY's- Above average to good. They have some great sides IMO.
Bob's- havent been yet but I hear it is on par with Cap Grille.
ALC- very old school Austin. Havent been in probably ten years but I remember it being very good.
Truluck's- Never had the steak there but if it is as good as the seafood they have it is worth the trip.

Eddie V's!!! I know they're known for seafood but I love a NY strip and, in my opinion, they have one of the best. And they pour heavy if you sit at the bar!

Little buried away Steak House in East Austin called "Jacoby's Restaurant & Mercantile" is a good one.

Gotta make reservations tho.
