I've used it several times in the last few weeks and it has been great, but not everybody should be on a road going 85-90. I was doing 95-100 with little traffic and it was an awesome way to shave at least an hour off a trip from Corous Christi to Dallas.

Lately I've seen a lot of the 'I'm going the speed limit in the passing lane and I'm not moving over' crowd, just like the regular interstate. It wasn't like that when it first opened, but it's getting worse every day.

Yep. Speed limit is 85 during optimal conditions. People shouldn't drive fast in the rain.

I guess if folks figure they can still safely tailgate you in the rain, they can do 80 in the rain as well. There was a black bmw way off the road in the wide wide section of median just south of 29 when I came through this evening. Looked they cam to rest in a "little" water. I bet it was a heckuva ride . Didn't appear that anyone was hurt though thankfully.

I dropped wife at airport on Sat. Raining on the way back. I had an 18wheeler that was double trailered pass me at over 80 on a curve in the rain. He was pulling two trailers... Crazy
